Basically, duties of the center are as follows;

1. to provide suitable places, materials and services at the university for applied courses, practical studies, internship, thesis and research projects for the associate degree, undergraduate and graduate degree programs of the faculties and vocational schools related to the plant, animal and food production,

2. In the areas of the university suitable for agricultural production, to follow scientific and technological innovations, to make contemporary basic and technological applications in the fields of animal and plant health, agricultural mechanization, biotechnology, bio-system, bioenergy, soil and plant nutrition and other fields related to agriculture, to support studies in these fields and to produce plant and animal-based food,

3. to carry out breeding studies, to establish the infrastructure that can transfer genes and embryos for the production of qualified breeding animal and plant materials, to establish or contribute to the creation of a gene bank,

4. to prepare projects and reports on plant and animal-based and all kinds of food production in cooperation with the university, public and private sectors, to organize training programs for regional producers, to publish articles and to organize meetings,

5. to carry out scientific experiments with projects deemed appropriate by the Administrative Board, to support these projects or to become a partner.

In carrying out these activities, a land of approximately 4,500 decares in İncesu-Yavaş area, plant and animal production areas in Mithatpaşa Quarter and agricultural areas on the central campus in Yıldırım Beyazıt Quarter are used.
